Future Cast’s upgraded Mechanical & Electrical Training and Assessment Facility in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon provides practical, industry-recognised training for the manufacturing, construction, and related sectors.

Our programmes combine hands-on experience with certifications in areas like electrical safety, automation, mechanical systems, and advanced welding — all delivered in real-world learning environments designed to meet industry needs.

The EU Just Transition Fund (EU JTF) (2021- 2027), co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union, is to assist the territories most affected by the transition to a climate neutral economy. In Ireland, the support scheme is focused on the wider Midlands area as it transitions away from peat as an energy source. The designated Just Transition Fund (JTF) Region in Ireland is defined as the counties of Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Roscommon, and the Municipal Districts of Ballinasloe (Co Galway), Athy, Clane-Maynooth, (Co Kildare) and Carrick-on-Suir and Thurles (Co Tipperary).

Mechanical and Electrical Training and Assessment Centre, Ballaghadereen is EU JTF funded for the creation of new sustainable employment in the region. To develop and deliver skills learning or social inclusion programmes that contribute to meeting the skills gap necessary for economic development in the region. Enable people to return to work, take up new rolls or to remain in employment. Stimulation, growth and further development of enterprise or social enterprise in the area.

    The M&E Mate 2-Week Programme at Future Cast provides foundational skills for those seeking to enter the mechanical and electrical sectors. This hands-on course focuses on key competencies such as manual handling, abrasive wheel usage, and electrical safety awareness.

    Participants also learn about working at height, MEWP operations (scissors and boom lifts), and cable tray bracket assembly.
